I havent had the chance to read the books yet but to me the greatest symbol of light and dark is Night and Day so in my mind the first thing that the Dark would want is to turn off the lights and swallow the sun.

this is the most extensive photo manip Ive done i usd my own textures for the first time. the background is a photo I took of the moon and added texture with a crumpled paper bag. using layer styles i added the red to turn the moon into the sun dying a fiery death as its consumed by shadow. I used a macro of a leaf to texture her face and used burn tool and the divide blending mode for the eye effect. The magic behind her shoulders were done using the wave filter in color dodge mode.

the lower left was intentionally left open as per the instructions so that they could add a logo themselves.

hope you guys like it please leave me feedback. this is my first time doing anything this involved and i would love some advice on how to improve


I followed some critique made by [link] and feel like it helped it out by removing the deep scar across her forehead and softening the blend on her eye color. i also went ahead and balanced the texture on her face and neck there were parts of it that didnt have ne on the right side of her face and neck. do you guys like it with texture all over or more asymmetrical ?
